- Full-frame 26.2MP CMOS image sensor
- DIGIC 8 image processor
- Dual pixel CMOS AF for fast and accurate auto focus
- Built-in EVF with 2.36 million dots
- Vari-angle touchscreen LCD
- Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology
- Touch and Drag AF
- Easy operation and mobile workflow
- Excellent low light performance
The Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Camera is the lightest, smallest full-frame EOS camera. It features an RF mount that works with RF lenses and EF/EF-S lenses (mount required for EF/EF-S lenses). It features a large 54mm diameter and short back focus, a 20mm flange focal distance, a robust 12 pin connection and a variety of mount adapter options for extended compatibility.
Premium Image Quality
The Canon EOS RP Digital Camera has a Canon 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor with an effective megapixel count of 26.2. Its DIGIC 8 image processor enhances speed and efficiency. Low light shooting is possible with a standard ISO sensitivity range of 100 – 40000 for stills and 100 – 25600 for video (100 – 12800 for 4K video shooting). An in-camera Digital Lens Optimizer also helps improve quality. It limits quality deterioration that is caused by low-pass filters or wide-aperture lens designs. You can use the Digital Lens Optimizer when shooting and when developing RAW data, and it will not affect your continuous shooting speeds.
Dual Pixel CMOS
Get fast and accurate autofocus thanks to the responsive Dual Pixel CMOS AF system of the EOS RP. The system features 4,779 manually selectable AF points – almost the entire image sensing area – and enables sharp, high-speed focusing in approximately 0.05 seconds. This camera configured to focus on specific areas. Selectable modes include 1-point AF, Expand AF Area, Zone AF and Spot AF, plus the conventional Face+Tracking AF.
Low Light Excellence
If you are looking for a camera that excels at low light or nighttime photography, you have come to the right place. The EOS RP operates in light with a rating as dim as EV -5^; other AF systems will fail at this level. You will even get outstanding AF when using high F number lenses.
EVF with Touch and Drag
The EOS RP’s 0.39-type OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) features 2.36 million dots and a 22mm eyepoint. In addition to crisp, vivid imaging, the EVF includes Canon’s Touch and Drag AF technology to easily move your focusing point – while keeping your eye in the viewfinder. Simply point to your desired area of focus on the touchscreen LCD, and it will display in the EVF.
Vibrant Display
The 3.0-inch, 1.04MP Clear View LCD II Vari-angle Touchscreen LCD features 7 adjustable levels of brightness. It is versatile enough to shoot from practically any angle, allowing easy selfies and keeping it out of your way.
Easy to Work
This mirrorless camera provides easy operation, is USB charge compatible, includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology and enables an enhanced mobile workflow. Functions, buttons, switches and dials are easy to control even while looking through the EVF. Creative Assist lets you easily change settings and see the real-time results. This is beneficial for matching your look to the emotion or tone of the image. It’s a great mode for experimentation. The Feature Assistant function provides simple text explanations and sample photos to help you use the EOS RP’s more complex features and improve the quality of your photos.
